Every time that we eat chicken we're contribuating to the explotation of this little animals. Factory farmers are putting steroid, hormones and antibiotic to this animal to make them to grow up faster. This is due because the more chicken they poduce the more money they get. The bad thing is that this is not healthy for them!! This poor chicken become adults in only 3 month, that's unnatural. Due to this prosses the mayority of chicken canot stand up right because their joung but their body is so heavy and develope. As you can see the Hen in the Picture has been debraked, they do this because they put many chicken in a battery cage and when chicken are so crowd they get irritate one another just like humans so they begin pecking to each other and killing one another because they can't run away do to the lack of space that they have in this cage. In able to prevent them from dying they cut their beak. In most of the cases they cut their beak with a hot knife, without anesthesia and in this process the end of the chiken's tongue is also cut off. Another thing is that the cage are made so small that the chickens cannot stand up without their head sticking out through the wire at the top of the cage.
Each of the Hens in these battery cages has only about 52 sq inches of cage and they spend most of their lives there because the farmar force them to do so. They are so crowd that they cannot sit or lie down at the same time. The only solution this Hen find is to climb on top of the other Hens. These Hens or chickens live there for abou 2 years, and the only times that they see the sunlight is when they are been trasport to a slaughterhouse were there life get taken away.
